one lazy Sunday afternoon

I really like this spot of the house, and it is best with the ceiling fan on, its much breezier. At this position you can have ample natural light, a good viewing distance from the TV and a table where you can prop up the chips and cold drinks while reading the paper.

Right now I'm in this spot, chilling while writing this entry with my heavy laptop (ugh). Just a little honor to this part of the house though :-)

Mini Project 1: Prints

This post will serve as start date for my mini project. I like the idea of printing all the photos that mean a lot to me. Some 90% of my photos are just pure soft copies. I want to organize them in an album or frame a few significant ones. I think this will inspire me to be more creative in taking pictures :-)

I'll make updates on my progress.

This time I really really want this idea to be applied :D

DIY light box photo

I've got a problem with my shots, when I'm having a white background it gets bluish... My light wattage is 18W and 20W, approximately 100watt equivalent, but it's not enough, or is it? I also think I didn't expose it very well. But I noticed this when I opened the photos in my laptop. Looking it in the camera, perfectly looked white to me though, I felt like I got THE SHOT hehe. I wear eyeglasses by the way, it's been 3 years since I last got a check-up, hmmmmm I'll take a visit one of these days.

You can see the bluish thing at the top

It’s most obvious in this photos below.

BTW, I just used my lamp shade as the holder and bought the 100W equivalent lights.

Here’s the box in my room (The room is very untidy, i know i know hehe)

I sometimes have it in our living room where it’s a little breezy than my sauna-inspired room during the afternoon :-)

What do you think? I need more practice and hope I can come up with techniques.

DIY white box

I always wonder how does products that seem to be floating in just pure white is taken. Googled it and found the DIY sections. I got excited! made it some 2 weeks ago, more like forced my brother to do it for me. Hey the box was really hard to cut you know, I could use some help :-p

I'll post the photos later.

BTW, my thank you goes to http://strobist.blogspot.com/2006/07/how-to-diy-10-macro-photo-studio.html and people over at http://www.istorya.net for sharing the info :-)

hobby

I am not a photographer but I love taking photos. Any difference? Yes because it is just a hobby, a way for me to de-stress away from all the worries of life (I'm a worrier by the way, I worry A LOT!!)

This all started at the amazement of the cheap'o analog camera since I was little. I remember I would always volunteer to take the picture but most of the time they won't allow me because, hey, I am just a kid.

As I grew knowledge that this piece of equipment really is expensive and not a priority in our frugal family, my little mind made a firm decision to not pursue or even think of wanting to have one. I just, sort of, ignored it. Then some time, when I was ending my college, we were able to buy one, my family owns one!! A pentax point and shoot... There was a grin on my face :-) I just take snapshots here and there, happily clicking away without the worry of any film put to waste, hey it's digital!! :-) I like reading the manual, and I always find myself going for macro shots. The one thing that pisses me off is the battery life, sometimes for me 3 hours is not enough. Time flies if I'm with a camera, like I am sooo in the zone. Our battery or camera or charger wasn't doing very well, I think it's because it was, hmmm, how shall I term it, it was not 'very legal'? Frugal huh? hehe :-)

Then the DSLR revolution waved in. And everyone nearly has one!! I would drool on the thought of having one or seeing friends/tourists having one satisfyingly slinging on their shoulders . Then my boyfriend, who took notice of my liking or more like drooling hehe, decided that we should buy one, both of us will chip-in half of the said amount, so we can 'record' our trips/outings and more and of course for me to stop drooling and channel this energy to something useful hehe.

After months of research and saving up, we decided to have a Canon 1000d with kit lens last October. We bought online via ebay.com.ph because it was cheaper, it was a very big risk for us but we got it right with power seller Dennis T. Lim from Manila (he doesn't know his name is mentioned here)

And so then my happy-taking-photos moments started :-)
